Definition of Culture

Every country has exactly culture and language which different, but actually it is same because language is a part of human culture. Culture has a big relationship with language because if some people want to know a language in one society, they also have to know his culture. The way of life, family and social relationship, marriage, death and so on, all of them used to language. Culture is natural development during birth process {what we call is behaviour, that changes from individual to individual broadened when lives in family that family is part of a society (group or community), behaviour of the group is culture} and its evolution is based on intelligence reaction to experiences and needs. For example initial stages of humans, behaviour were similar to other animals lived in groups. Animals too live in groups (society or community) and their group behaviour and practices is their culture. Human intelligence reacted stronger to experiences and needs that widened cultural status. Culture developed by beliefs, faith, practices, customs, way to live, art, intelligence, language, food habits, and economy etc; Cultural growth gave identity to the societies that named, Christian or Muslim or Hindu or Jewish or Buddhist etc; have different cultures. Based on Croydon definition, culture is a system of integrated patterns, most of which remain below the threshold of consciousness, yet all of which govern human behaviour just as surely as the manipulated strings of a puppet control its motion. Therefore, as a student who studies other language, I have to know the purposes in studying other culture, in this case I study English language, and I have to know and learn its culture. Because culture based on Carla’s definition is defined as the shared patterns of behaviours and interactions, cognitive constructs, and affective understanding that are learned through a process of socialization. These shared patterns identify the members of a culture group while also distinguishing those of another group
